An Evening of Joy: The Joy Issue Launch

DADDY Magazine Presents: Community building with Refuge Worldwide and ROOTS Berlin

In October 2022 we celebrated 6 years of DADDY and the launch of our JOY issue, with the double occasion calling for not only one but two celebrations. 

Our first evening of joy took place at Hallesches Haus and started off with welcome drinks by Bombay Sapphire, accompanied by funky disco beats provided by Constantin Hartenstein. Moderator and systemic life and business coach ShaNon Bobinger led us through the night, lighting up the room with her bright energy and sparkly suit. Contributors Miriam Emefa, Day Eve Komet and Carina Park gave us intimate and heartfelt insights into the pieces they had written for the JOY issue, speaking about friendship, seeing yourself through someone else and surviving in a burning world. 

After the readings our surprise act Mesu Diye performed a few of her songs together with musician Bo, including her newest single “Wer willst du sein”from her newest album “1001ICH”. We then kept our guests dancing to an amazing set by local DJ Hanaby and finished the night with a little giveaway. 

Our second launch event took place in the beginning of November at Soho House Berlin. It was a cozy get-together in the Red Room that started with a beautiful reading by Deidre Olsen who had written a piece about the unbridled lesbian love and joy they share with their wife. During the mingling and catching up with our friends and loved ones we were accompanied with another wonderful set by Hanaby.
