One of our next projects is a short film dedicated to Black Joy. The film is the continuation of JOY, our latest print issue, and centres Black, African, and Afrodiasporic perspectives. While traditional media is obsessed with stories of Black pain and trauma, "Black Joy'' aims to create a counter-narrative for the community and beyond. It will be shot and produced in Berlin, Germany and London, UK. We want to hear from Black/BIPOC creatives (all experience levels) and volunteers who are interested in joining our production team.
We are also looking to expand the DADDY team and create an ever broader network and community so we can all work our magic together for respective projects. We'd love to hear from creatives (senior experience level, all backgrounds) who are interested in collaborating, volunteering or mentoring.
Please use the form below to tell us who you are, what your experience level is, and how you'd like to get involved in our upcoming projects or the production of our short film “Black Joy”. The form will close in March 2023 and production of "Black Joy" will commence shortly afterwards. As "Black Joy" is mostly self-funded, our budget is relatively tight. The production team will receive a small allowance/compensation and we are always happy to hear from volunteers.
